Samsung Galaxy Chromebook review

Galaxy Chromebook

The market is full of laptops with different specifications, some are thinner and light weighted while others are faster. There are a number of Chromebooks designed by different companies in order to compete with each other on specs and performance. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook which comes at a whopping price of $999 has some features which don’t reflect the price tag and battery timing is one of the main drawbacks.

In a nutshell, the Galaxy Chromebook is a beautifully designed machine along with impressive hardware, an outstanding screen, and a stylus pen. And some drawbacks include high price tag, low battery life and issues and limitation of Chrome OS.

So let’s just start with the good features which are included in the Galaxy Chromebook. The Chromebook is 2.20 pounds and 9.9mm thick which makes it the thinnest of all. It comes in two colors one is mercury gray and the second is fiesta red.

8 megapixel camera is being placed at the right side of the keyboard deck so when anybody folds it to make a tablet it will be used to take pictures. And also it is best for video chatting to give you a clear look.

The Galaxy Chromebook has a 4K OLED screen. The display is amazing along with vibrant colors. By using the Google Ambient Colors feature it keeps adjusting the display of the color.

The main feature of this Chromebook is the stylus. The use of the stylus pen is more comfortable than the touchpad and also it runs very smoothly on the screen.

You can also use the stylus for drawing purposes by downloading some stylus compatible applications from Google Play Store. You can use it as a pointer while giving a presentation and a lot more than these features.

The 10th Gen Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, 13.3 inches of screen, 4K OLED touchscreen functions will help the Chromebook to run smoothly. The apps will not lag or crash and the device will never hang. Google Assistant also does the magic by listening to all the commands without any delays.

On the other side, the main failure of the Chromebook is battery life. The battery timing is very low; it also heats up quickly as there is no fan in it. The cooling system is not up to the mark because if you opened more than 10 tabs it might not get heat up but sometimes if you just opened 5 tabs it gets heat up. So there is an inconsistency in the cooling system.

Wrap up

Although, we have to give the credit to Samsung for creating this nice looking Chromebook. The stylus pen along with design gives us feel that Samsung put much effort to make the design matchless. The Chromebook is a sound successor to Google’s Pixelbook. But the price tag is not justifiable if we see the drawbacks of the device. As we already know that there are so many other options in the market which also offers a powerful tool. It is very important to mention here that Apple Macbook Air and Microsoft Surface 3 also have the same price.
