The installation of the 5G tower on Mount Everest is an amazing feat and yet unbelievable. With the joint collaboration between Huawei and China Mobile, the world’s highest 5G tower on Mount Everest at 6500 meters of altitude was erected. The Huawei and China Mobile organized the launch of the Gigabit optical fiber network on an altitude of 6,500 meters. The focus of Huawei was to provide uninterrupted 5G service to its users.
The reason behind this big initiative was to give better connectivity along with showing their ability to install towers in any part of the world. This does not just set the record but also clarifies how far companies can go to market its product.
The locations have been selected to honor the anniversary of two Chinese mountaineers’ achievements. The 5G stations will help mountaineers from all over the world to communicate better.
Three camps were being built to complete the whole process starting from base camp at an altitude of 5,300 meters. Followed by a transition camp that is being set up at 5,800 meters and then finally the forward camp which is at 6,500 meters. 5G AAU and SPN technologies were used by the company. At Mount Everest base camp, the companies network maintenance and optimization will be done by a specialist network team who will be working 24/7.
Advancing the technology in such circumstances means the potential behind the 5G technology. 5G users can download at a speed of 1.7Gbps and uploading speed will be around 215Mbps at an altitude of 6,500 meters.
