Google reveals a new form of augmented reality glasses. This will not be limited like the experiment phase product Google Glass and will be an official product of Google. Google will charge you $999 for its augmented reality Glass. Google Glass has an improved version of the processor, better camera, USB-C port for fast charging and lots of other important updates.

The design of the Glass has not changed so much it is still the old head up display type. The design is not comparable with Microsoft HoloLens headsets. Google uses Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 technology which is designed for augmented reality purposes.

Now that Google Glass has XR1 the processing is improved and as mentioned by Google that with the help of Snapdragon XR1 the new Google Glass Headset can integrate with advanced machine learning and computer vision capabilities.

Apart from this Google already launches a computer vision tool named Google Lens which can translate any language to your desired one, sign translations and recommendations based on your past experience.

By collaborating with Smith Optics, Google is adding new safety frames and also enhancing battery life with other improved mechanisms. The Glass Headset can now run on Android. Earlier there was no news of it coming into Android but later Google planned Glass Headset Edition 2 to come up with Android.

Previously, Google was hit with privacy concern because of the privacy and functionality of the Glass Headset but then Google shifted its focus from general public to some groups that include Surgeons, industrial units workers and other professionals.

Google is claiming that they sped up their production line, giving improved quality with a decrease in cost. The original Explorer Edition cost $1,500 and this Enterprise Edition 2 is at $999.

Not just Google is working on virtual reality; there are other renowned companies as well who are planning to bring their own augmented reality glasses including Microsoft, Epson and Vuzix.

The Reality of Google Incognito Mode https://techying.com/how-to/the-reality-of-google-incognito-mode/ Tue, 19 May 2020 19:06:17 +0000 https://techying.com/?p=1820 Google’s incognito mode may not be as secure as you think. The majority of the […]

Google’s incognito mode may not be as secure as you think. The majority of the people use incognito mode while surfing on the internet to keep their history private from other users of the device and also from the advertisers. But a study revealed that Google can still identify you whenever you use incognito mode.

Google collects our data through multiple devices like smartphones, laptops and also from its services such as YouTube or its search engine. The study shows that Google will still identify and link it with you.

Whenever you started using private mode or incognito mode you will read a message that “you are now browsing privately”, so now others will be unable to check your history or activity you have performed while using the private mode. The incognito mode does not save your history, cookies and any kind of information you have shared on while browsing incognito mode. But here is a little worry for you that Google does warn us by saying your activity is still visible to your Internet service provider, websites and to those who control the network.

Although the history data is not being saved, it may be linked to your Google account while using private mode. The study related to data collection disclosed that when you surf a third party website which are using Google advertising and publisher products and after that, you logged in to your personal accounts such as Gmail or YouTube, then it sets a cookie that is not firstly linked with your Google account but it stores in local mass storage. But again, when you login with your personal account in normal mode Google will connect these stored cookies with your personal information so hence you are in Google loop now.

So, what to do in order to save yourself from this. To remain protected just do not login to your Gmail account or any other account which is vulnerable for your privacy. But if you do want to enter your Gmail for emergency reasons you must delete your cookies before and after using the service so that Google won’t link information via cookies.

What we learn from this is that Google is also not so safe and secure when it comes to internet safety. But we cannot just blame Google for this as there are other companies as well who are compromising our online privacy.

Android 10 was launched back in 2019 with Pixels phones and slowly it kept on coming for other Android devices. The Android 10 update has a lot of features that help in improving the performance of the mobile phone.

If you just purchased a new phone or updated your android version to Android 10 then these are the functions and features that you should know about.

Wi-Fi and QR codes

Now you can create a QR code for your WI-FI network or if you want to join a WIFI network just scan a QR code from the Wi-Fi setting. To use the QR code functionality go to your Wi-Fi setting and choose home network, there you will see a share button with a small QR code.

Undo app removal

In iPhone when you delete a picture there is a folder from where you retrieve the deleted picture and you have 30 days to recover your file the same law was applicable here but for a short time span. In Android 10 when you remove an app accidently from your home screen and cannot remember which was the app then you can press the undo button in the button of the screen. Press and your app will be back from where you removed it. Remember the undo button will only last few seconds so act fast.

Location control

In previous Android versions, you installed an app and it asked for location permission then it kept location On whether you are using the application or not. Thanks to the Android 10 update now an app only access your location information when you use the application otherwise it will remain off. This will not just only improve battery life but also improve the privacy of the users.

Better notification controls

This feature may look small to many users but it is very important feature for those who have vast application on their mobile. In Android 10 when you long press any downloaded app it will pop up with two options one is Alerting and second is Silent.

If you press alert, you will receive app notification with sounds. If you select silent then the alert won’t make a sound or not even vibrate. It is very easy for Android users to customize the sound of the applications.

Live Caption

The Google developed live caption option for its users. You can give caption on any video which is being played and the fun fact is it does not require any data connection. Just press the volume button when video is played. The volume slider will show up and it will have a caption button at the button, tap that button and move your caption anywhere on the screen.

This feature was first only released on Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL and eventually, it came into Pixels lineup. Only the Galaxy 20 has this feature from Samsung brand.

Focus Mode

As the name is suggesting the mode will help you to focus on those ghost apps which consume your capacity and those apps which are diverting and hiding their notification.

Wet, overheating USB warnings

Devices running on Android 10 will now show a warning sign when a user inserts a wet charging cable. The function will remain unsupported unless the port is no longer wet.

Furthermore, you will also get notified when your phone port or USB port is overheating

That’s it from our side, after knowing these Android features remember to check each and every tiny detail because we may miss something.

The impact of coronavirus has not just affected the human and economy of the world but there is also a positive outcome for those who are affiliated with online working. Just like other tech giants, Google, also, has been so busy for the last 3 months. Google is continuously monitoring what people searches for during this pandemic coronavirus.

In normal days the searches related to self-care remains low but during this crisis where everything is closed down, people are searching for “how to cut hairs” because lockdowns are placed in most parts of the world and barbershops are closed.

There is a website by Google named Google Trends that shows the trending topics established on the basis of people’s searching behavior.

Some software became immensely popular during the lockdown and their search queries increased rapidly. The Zoom searches increased in millions in last 3 months, as there are so many workers working from home and they need to stay connected with their employees and clients and Zoom is a good choice for having am online meeting with up to 40 minutes if you are using it for free.

The others top trending searches include “Stimulus Check”. A stimulus check is also known as Economic Impact Payment is basically a request that you have made to your government for giving your money during crisis.

As we have known that the coronavirus is spreading rapidly and people are getting effected continuously and that resulted in a shortage of supplies in the market as there is more demand and less supply so people started caring and protecting themselves by their own. And that’s why people are searching for “How to make a mask” or “how to make a hand sanitizer”

TikTok was not so much popular in Google searches like Instagram and Facebook but during this pandemic, it attracted more celebrities such as Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Jack Black, Megan Thee Stallion, Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez, Ashley Benson and many more.

The searches are both type. There are searches related to coronavirus and health related issues and then there are daily searches. Google trends also show coronavirus country wise live current data.
