As the lockdown is imposed by every country the sales of electronic items came down instantly because there are no consumers on the road to purchase items physically.
The same thing is applicable to Apple products. Although the sales of iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and other products are not doing good, online Apple services are doing great business and are making new records.
Last week Apple disclosed its earnings of different services category and according to them, Apple TV and App Store have hit record revenue of $13.3 billion.
It is all because of an increase in search ads, downloads from App Store, Apple Music, Cloud services, and also from in-app purchases.
Furthermore, the newly released service of the company like Apple TV+, Apple Arcade Apple Card, and Apple News+ also draw the interest of the new customers. This category also helps in boosting overall growth. Apple sees an increased 30 percent business increase in the subscription category yearly.
The main reason behind the surge in the business is to help pass time as people are social distancing at the moment and eventually people tend to end up finding new stuff. There is also an increase in the volume of users who are using FaceTime and messaging services during these days. As there is no news of the lifting of the lockdown, Apple believes that the same revenue pattern will be followed until June quarter.
The company also believes that the growth in iPads and Mac will increase in the third quarter of the year as people are mostly relying on the devices to stay in touch.
Most companies have shut down their operations but Apple keeps on launching new machines and smartphones despite iPhone sales being down. During the pandemic, the company has launched the latest versions of MacBook Air, iPad Pro, Magic keyboard and iPhone SE.
